ENTRY FEES:
$5 donation for each daily attempt to qualify for nightly tournament or $5 to attend event. Blood donors, and those who register for the National Marrow Registry in support of Driving For Donors at the NPPL Tampa Pro Paintball Championships(http://www.nppl.tv) will gain a free qualification attempt.

Top 8 Highest Scores, each day, in each class, will qualify for nightly tournament

May attempt to qualify in only one class/one system each day.
Those failing to qualify Friday and Friday night’s non-finalists, may attempt to qualify on Saturday for an additional $5 donation
Friday night’s finalists may not attempt to qualify for Saturday night’s play.

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE:
1. 1v1 Guitar Hero II pro setting
2. 48 person field Friday, 48 person field Saturday. Tournament seeding based on qualification score. Six Class winners from Friday and Six Class Winners from Saturday will advance to Sunday’s Championship event.
3. Best 2 out of 3 matches
4. High score wins. Tie scores will be resolved by highest
percentage, and then if needed, note streak.
5. Players alternate to select a song each. First person to choose
song determined by qualifying score, or coin toss. If needed, a third song is
chosen at random.
6. Sunday - 12 Finalists - Winners of Medium Friday vs Winners Hard Friday (Hard) Winners of Medium Saturday vs Winners Hard Saturday (Hard) - Winners advance to play Expert Friday and Saturday winners in Semi-Finals & Finals (Expert) - Final Face off XBOX360 vs. PS/2 - 1 battle on PS/2 1 battle on XBOX - highest combined score wins
7. Players encouraged to bring their own guitar controllers, especially XBOX.
PRIZES: Finalists - 1st - Guitar Center Guitar/Tampa Guitar School lessons/Print Empire GHII Champion Business Cards, 2nd, & 3rd place and other prizes TBA.
RAFFLE: All who attempt to qualify will receive a chance at several raffle prizes.

What:
We’re having a campus wide Guitar Hero Tournament to close out the semester. There will be a couple hundred people here; easy, medium, hard, and expert divisions will be played. There will be prizes (good ones, not sucky ones), soda, and random food… Come show your skills and invite your friends. It’ll only cost $2 to cover kegs of root beer and the prizes.
We might have to limit the number of players to 100 people per skill level. Just so we don’t go crazy.

Think you’re the best Guitar Hero player around?? Think you have what it takes to be a Guitar Hero champion?? Then come show off your skills at HG’s Guitar Hero II Tournament! Bring your fanbase (a.k.a. friends) out to cheer you on as you rock Higher Ground!
Prizes awarded to top 4 finishers, as well as for best costume. Competitors are encouraged to wear mullet wigs, spiked wrist bands, and any other prop that makes you feel like a rock star!
Tournament Set-up and Guidelines:
The tournament will be setup in a 1 vs. 1 format with rounds consisting of a “best 2 of 3 songs” format for the winner to advance to the next round.
The songs being played in each round will be determined by the participants in the round. A coinflip will be used to determine who gets first song choice. The loser of the coinflip will choose the 2nd song and in the case of a 3rd song tie-break, the tournament organizer will pick a song at random.
Song difficulty will begin at the Medium level for the opening round of play, and as the tournament proceeds, the difficulty levels will increase to Hard, and eventually Expert for the Quarterfinals through the Finals.
Tournament seeding will be determined at random by the tournament organizers after registration has closed.
Tournament will be single-elimination. Free play will be available after the completion of the tournament.

Those wishing to compete need to purchase a $7 ticket and present it on the day of the event to register/join the competition. Tickets are currently onsale and may be purchased either online or at the HG box office. Email info@mixedbagproductions.com for additional information.

Entry fee: None (but you’ll need a con badge to enter the gameroom).
Details:
This will be a single elimination tournament.
Winners will be determined based on final score per round.
Modifiers may not be used, all rounds will be used with default settings. Guitar mode only will be used (no bass).
Difficulties will be progressive, starting on NORMAL (minimally), final rounds being on EXPERT. Songs used will be announced at the tournament site (so make sure you know ‘em). Qualifier song will be announced a week before the convention.
The tournament will be held on GUITAR HERO II for PS2.
All the specifics (format) are being worked on, please be patient as we work this all out.
